Dawn Miller comes from a small town in rural England and after studying PR at University in Leeds she started her career in-house at Sharp Electronics head office in Manchester, there she gained immeasurable experience working on PR and marketing campaigns for new Sharp products in Europe and working on the sponsorship program between Sharp and soccer superstars Manchester United Football Club.
At age 23, during a vacation to San Francisco and inspired by a friend, Dawn drove to Los Angeles where she knew no-one and submitted resumes to PR agencies from the Kinkos on Wilshire Boulevard. After sending dozens and dozens of emails, and researching how to secure herself a J-1 visa, Dawn eventually secured two interviews and remarkably was offered both jobs.
She started at Levine Communications, known for celebrity PR, and here Dawn combined her knowledge of corporate and sports entertainment PR with her entrepreneurial skills, and helped form new divisions, sign new clients and grow from 5 to 15 people. Along the way she went from account manager to director, VP, EVP and eventually became the President & COO all within 5 years.
In 2008, during one of the worst economic collapses in recent history, Dawn founded Miller PR with a vision to represent clients at the intersection of entertainment and technology, often referred to as ‘digital entertainment.’ After seeing high profile Hollywood clients developing new tech ventures, Dawn realized this was the area they needed PR and it would be profitable to also represent them here. This was a strategy that paid-off and led to Dawn representing many of the most prominent companies in the space, and her firm grew exponentionally.
Consequently, Miller PR has represented major clients including Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation, Warner Music, Funny or Die, Dailymotion, Machinima, Demand Media, and countless others. Dawn has become an advisor to many celebrities and CEO’s and enjoyed long relationships with clients such as Paris Hilton, Gene Simmons, Stan Lee, Boy George & Culture Club, Afrojack, Peter Guber and Robert Evans to name a few. As the company expanded into the lifestyle arena in 2016, it has gained major wins with clients including Lucky Strike, Absolut Elyx and Bumble.
